Tough Fixtures: Cardiff City (H), Ipswich Town (A), Brighton and Hove Albion (A)
These three fixtures present massive challenges for Fulham. Cardiff and Ipswich sit 7th and 8th respectfully, right on the edge of the play-off places. Both will be raring to go and will be motivated to secure their ticket to the eventual route to Wembley, and will pose an uphill battle for this defensively porous Fulham side. In addition, the Whites failed to beat these two teams at the first time of asking this season, and there is little to suggest they can turn the tide and get a result this time around. Furthermore, travelling away to the Amex and hoping for a positive result with be a massive task for Fulham, as Brighton reside comfortably in the automatic promotion places.
In all, if Fulham can win the three must-win matches and salvage three points from the remaining five, they will most likely be safe. These results will leave the Cottagers with 50 points, the normal marker for safety in the Championship. It is vital that Fulham are pumped up and mentally prepared for the relegation-six pointers, and the Whites also must put to rest the dangerous habit of throwing away points from a wining position.
Fulham Football Club has eight matches to maintain their Championship status, and this year it seems as if the relegation race is going down to the wire. Mark your calendars for Saturday, 7th May. The final match of the season against Bolton may just be the most important match in Fulham’s recent history.
