Wilfried Zaha wants out of Crystal Palace and this could be Arsenal's moment - TBR View
Arsenal could finally have the chance to sign Wilfried Zaha this summer, with the Crystal Palace winger apparently determined to leave Selhurst Park.
The Sun claims that Zaha has his heart set on a move away from Selhurst Park, despite the club making moves in the transfer market and landing Ebere Eze for just shy of £20m this morning.
Zaha is someone who has been expected to leave the club for a while. Indeed, a number of clubs, including Dortmund and Monaco, are said to be keen on exploring a potential deal for the speedster.
And back in May, the Sun claimed Arsenal were looking to land Zaha themselves, albeit for just £40m, some £40m shy of what Palace wanted at the time.
But with no developments from anywhere and Zaha now apparently making his stance clear on his future, surely Arsenal won’t ever have a better chance of landing the Palace star?
Willian is good but Zaha is a completely different option
For some, the signing of Willian from Chelsea might have been enough to suggest that Arsenal didn’t need Zaha. Of course, the Brazilian is a world-class performer and should be a big hit with the Gunners.
But he is a different player to Zaha. The Palace star is the type who can pull a rabbit out of the hat. Produce a moment of magic that nobody else on the field is capable of. And that is what you would be paying for in Zaha.
Furthermore, his ability to play either wing would give Mikel Arteta options. He could move Aubameyang into a more central role if needed, keeping the Gabon star in and around the box where he is at his most threatening.
Of course, if Palace still wants £80m, then this might be a no-go. But if Arsenal can somehow get that fee down and sell a few of their bit-part players on, then they might finally get their hands on Zaha and add a quality and proven PL player to their ranks.
