Nicolas Pepe struggled once again in an Arsenal shirt on Monday night as The Gunners lost to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, and Wigan Athletic man Gary Roberts has hilariously condemned Pepe on Twitter.
Pepe, 24, joined Arsenal after spearheading Lille’s progress into the Champions League with a second-placed finish in Ligue 1 last term. He scored 23 goals and laid on 12 assists in 41 appearances. It saw Arsenal spend £72million on Pepe.
He lasted little over 70 minutes as he had a number of shots but failed to stretch Dean Henderson. Lys Mousset’s first-half strike proved to be the only goal of the game, as Chris Wilder’s side upset the odds to nab three points.
Wigan star Roberts, watching the Monday night Premier League clash, hilariously reacted to Ivory Coast international Pepe’s performance by claiming the winger could be about to join League Two side Forest Green Rovers on loan in January.

TBR’s view – Pepe needs a spell on the Arsenal bench
The winger looks as though he is playing with his price tag weighing him down. There is a lack of confidence and a lack of conviction. Emery needs to give him a spell on the bench, to get out of the firing line.
There is keeping your faith in a player, which Emery has done in Pepe. But then there comes the point where an under-fire player needs to be given the breather from the criticism – otherwise it will have a detrimental effect.
