Wilfried Zaha missed Crystal Palace’s last match against Tottenham Hotspur with a hamstring strain, forcing the winger to pull out of the Ivory Coast’s national squad.
Yet Zaha’s international withdrawal may be a blessing in disguise, allowing the star attacker to rest up and return to full fitness for the upcoming league match against Manchester United.
Following the Spurs match, Palace boss Roy Hodgson expressed his optimism that Zaha would be fit for the clash against United on 24 November.
The timing could not be better for the winger. A former Manchester United player, Zaha’s time at Old Trafford was largely a failure, and he will be eager to enact revenge against his former employers.

Back at Selhurst Park, Zaha has found his best form and will relish the opportunity to take advantage of his former club’s porous defence after the international break.
Luckily for the Eagles, Zaha will not be with his country on international duty, but instead will be completely focused on recovering from injury and preparing for the match at Old Trafford.
Despite the injury scare, Wilfried Zaha’s absence from the Ivory Coast set-up represents great news for Crystal Palace, as the winger will have the best chance at succeeding in his return to Manchester United.
