West Ham United are entering a new era under Graham Potter, and they may want to make some new signings to back their new gaffer.
West Ham have already been linked with some exciting additions during this January transfer window.
Indeed, West Ham are keen on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, while West Ham also made a bid for Jhon Duran this week.
However, perhaps the most exciting rumour out of the London Stadium regards Marcus Rashford.
Rashford has been linked to West Ham, but, as of yet, no concrete move has been made.
Speaking on The United Stand, Ben Jacobs has been discussing West Ham’s links to Rashford, and he says there’s a reason why West Ham haven’t made a move for Rashford yet.

Why West Ham haven’t moved for Marcus Rashford
Jacobs shared why West Ham haven’t made their move for Rashford.
The journalist says that West Ham feel as though Rashford wants to move abroad, and that is why the east London outfit haven’t made a move yet, with the only concrete offer so far coming from Saudi Arabia.
“Then West Ham are one to watch, but interesting the feeling with West Ham is that Rashford wants to go abroad, and that is again why at the moment that they haven’t approached Manchester United. The only concrete offer to United came from central Saudi dealmakers probably with Al-Ahli in mind,” Jacobs said.
Marcus Rashford compared to West Ham attackers
West Ham haven’t made their move for Rashford yet, but they are keen on the England international.
However, given Rashford’s form this season, there are questions to raise around whether or not this would be a good signing.
Indeed, Rashford hasn’t been at his best this season, while West Ham do have plenty of talent on the wings.
| Marcus Rashford stats this season | Crysencio Summerville stats this season | Jarrod Bowen stats this season | Mohammed Kudus stats this season | |
| Games | 15 | 19 | 19 | 15 |
| Goals | 4 | 1 | 5 | 3 |
| Assists | 1 | 1 | 4 | 1 |
Rashford is outperforming some of West Ham’s attacking players, that’s for sure, but whether or not it’s worth completely changing your wage structure to accommodate a player that isn’t shining statistically is up for debate.
Graham Potter does play a more attacking style of play, and, in the right circumstances, Crysencio Summerville should be able to kick on, while Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus remain incredibly effective players.
Rashford is an option for West Ham this month, but he may not be the most economical addition the Hammers can make.
