Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has conceded the club’s Premier League title challenge is over following a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge (BBC Sport).

Pedro opened the scoring for the hosts, which was followed by a truly embarrassing own goal by Kieran Trippier after a mix-up with Hugo Lloris.

Trippier had a poor game and it has not been a good season for the Englishman.

With Serge Aurier also still struggling to truly convince, Pochettino must surely now hand Kyle Walker-Peters an extended run in the team.

Tottenham’s Alexander-Arnold?

Walker-Peters is yet to be given a proper run in the Tottenham team – but now is as good a time as any for him to get the nod.

On a night where Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold registered a superb hat-trick of assists against Watford, Walker-Peters didn’t even make the bench for Spurs.

Alexander-Arnold is flourishing now after Jurgen Klopp trusted him to take over from Nathaniel Clyne in 2016, and Pochettino should do the same with his young full-back.

Walker-Peters also registered a hat-trick of assists earlier in the season against Bournemouth, suggesting a bit of faith in the player may end up paying dividends in the same way Klopp’s has with Alexander-Arnold.
