Ange Postecoglou entrusted Son to be his captain this season, and also gave him the reins to manage the dressing room.

Now 31-years-old, Son has a new air about him this season, his goal-scoring isn’t the only remarkable change.

That being said, The Standard have now been sharing more details on a bust-up that Tottenham’s Son had with a South Korea teammate whilst away at the Asian Cup recently.

Spurs’ captain could be seen wearing some strapping on his right hand in Saturday’s win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

And that was the result of a dislocated finger Son suffered in a bust up with Paris Saint-Germain’s Kang-in Lee.

According to the report, Son took issue with some of the younger players in the squad playing table tennis at dinner time during the camp, causing a row.

And as result the Tottenham captain was hurt, dislocating his finger.

Kang-in Lee has since apologised for the incident, which probably didn’t help South Korea’s chances of winning the Asian Cup.

According to the report, Son asked the young players to keep the noise down, only to be ignored, which led to Son then grabbing Lee by the collar.

As a result, Lee threw a punch which didn’t connect, but Son was still injured when being separated by teammates.

It’s hard to judge from the outside, but perhaps this was Son trying to create a better team atmosphere when first speaking to the young players, which ultimately backfired on this occasion.

But either way, it’s clear that Son has become very conscious of his new responsibilities, he’s clearly trying to do the right thing.

Moreover, to that description, Spurs fans will be pleased to hear what Tottenham insiders are saying about the club’s dressing room right now.

And with time, all of these experiences should only enrich Son’s effectiveness as a captain.
