Glasgow Rangers defender Calvin Bassey is quickly becoming a huge asset for Ibrox boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The 21-year-old reportedly cost Rangers just £230,000 in June 2020.
Bassey, who was previously on Leicester’s books, penned a pre-contract with Rangers earlier in the year.

The Athletic reported that the £230,000 fee was what the Ibrox camp had to pay as compensation.
Just 18 months on, it’s clear that Rangers have definitely got themselves a bargain.
Bassey has already made 36 competitive appearances for the Light Blues.
Many of these have come at left-back, but lately he’s really been impressing at centre-back.
Leon Balogun has been out injured, so Bassey has been playing in central defence alongside Connor Goldson.
And the way he’s performing, it’s unlikely Van Bronckhorst will drop him once the veteran is available again.
Against St Johnstone, Bassey didn’t put a foot wrong – indeed, the game was a stroll for him.
He played a part in winning the corner that led to Rangers’ first goal by retaining pressure and driving forward.
In addition, he took 92 touches of the ball, made 87 passes with an impressive accuracy of 92 percent (Whoscored).
Bassey also won three aerials, delivered five accurate long balls, and even tried his luck with an effort.
Needless to say, Van Bronckhorst will surely be jumping for joy at how well Bassey is doing – so much so he could well keep Balogun out of the XI.
