In the January transfer window, Jonathan Kodjia was linked with a move away from Aston Villa.
According to Ouest-France via Get French Football News, Ligue 1 side Angers were eyeing a move for Kodjia.
The Ivory Coast international was their top scorer when Angers were promoted in 2015 and they were keen to have him back.
But the Villans gave him a vote of confidence by keeping the physical attacker at the club.
However, his form since January has dipped and if he cannot rediscover his touch, then he may face the axe when the summer window opens.
Kodjia’s first season at Villa Park yielded 19 goals in 36 games; he was the main man up front and deadly in front of goal.

But last season’s constant injuries limited the 29-year-old to just 18 games and one goal. This has clearly affected his confidence as he has only managed six goals in 33 matches this season.
Admittedly, Kodjia prefers a central striker role and has been forced to play out wide to accommodate on-loan hotshot Tammy Abraham.
But Aston Villa fans are still expecting more from the former Bristol City forward.
Aston Villa currently sit 10th in the Championship, nine points adrift of the play-off zone. If Dean Smith’s men are to have any chance of competing for promotion, they need players like Kodjia to step up and rediscover their top form.
