On Wednesday, Mohamed Salah did something he hadn’t done in exactly six months: score more than one goal in a match for Liverpool.
Half a year ago, the Egyptian lit up Anfield with an exquisite brace in the Champions League semi-final against Roma, all but cementing Liverpool’s place in the European Cup final.
And last night, Salah repeated the feat and scored twice against Red Star Belgrade, en route to a 4-0 win over the Serbian side.

The long-awaited multi-goal match comes as a massive boost for Salah, extinguishing the senseless rumours that he was simply a one-season wonder and that he was undergoing a second-year slump.
He got his opening goal after finding a lovely pocket of space and smashing a near-post finish past the goalkeeper, and his double came when he commandingly walloped a second-half penalty down the middle.
The European brace will work wonders for the Egyptian’s confidence, representing his first Champions League goals of the campaign.
With another Liverpool double under his belt, Salah brought his goal tally to 50 goals for the club — a fantastic achievement that will only grow as he continues his career at Anfield.
