Football.london reported on Monday that Barcelona had announced their 20-man squad for their midweek Champions League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
There were a number of notable exclusions from the team, and Spurs fans will be annoyed that winger Malcom was among those left out.
The former Bordeaux winger was heavily linked with a move to north London this summer, yet instead chose a switch to the La Liga giants for £36.5million (BBC).
A skilled attacker of the Brazilian’s quality surely would have only bolstered Spurs’ front line, granting Tottenham comparable depth to their title challengers.

However, an underwhelming start to the season has left Tottenham in fourth position. Although it is still early days, they have two losses while Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City above them all unbeaten.
Perhaps a difference-maker such as Malcom could have boosted Spurs’ early-season fortunes, and added fresh legs with the additional responsibilities of Champions League football.
But Tottenham supporters must be furious when they see their summer target languish at Barcelona, completely left out of the squad for a pivotal European match.
Struggling for playing time and form at the Camp Nou, Malcom must be ruing his summer decision— and Spurs fans will be annoyed that he chose the bench at Barca over starting at Spurs.
