New Leeds United manager, Jesse Marsch, got his first big taste of the true joy of a bouncing Elland Road yesterday as his team managed to sneak past Norwich in the most dramatic fashion.
A late Norwich goal had looked to be enough for Dean Smith’s men to take a surprise point back to East Anglia but a late, late winner from young forward Joe Gelhardt ensured Marsch got his first win as Leeds boss. It was a massive moment, and one which was celebrated in the dugout and inside Elland Road like Leeds had just won a trophy.

In fact, such were the scenes after the goal and at full-time, that Marsch completely forgot to shake hands with Dean Smith in the dugout and was forced to issue an apology to the Norwich boss. Per a report from Yorkshire Evening Post, Marsch had to be directed back to the dugout by Mark Jackson to a waiting Smith. From there, the pair shook hands and Marsch apologised before getting back to the celebrations.
Certainly, it felt like a huge moment for the Whites as they continue to battle against relegation.
TBR’s View: Marsch Can Use This To Get Fans Onside
This was a massive moment for Leeds and Marsch and it’s one he needs to try and harness to bring everyone in the same direction.
Some Leeds fans are sceptical of the new manager but when things like this happen, it can bring everyone together and Marsch will hope that’s the case for now. Often in a season, there are key individual moments that can really get a club going.
This felt like one of them with Leeds.
