The magic of the FA Cup will seemingly never become a thing of the past as Plymouth Argyle stunned Liverpool by beating them 1-0 in the Fourth Round of the competition.
Heading into the contest, Arne Slot would have expected a routine victory for his side.
However, there are not free lunches in football as Liverpool were taught a brutal lesson in a performance that seemed far too complacent to beat a Plymouth side looking to make history.
Arne Slot will be gutted as the Merseyside-based club should be beating Plymouth on any given day, considering they are at the bottom of the Championship table.

Arne Slot was “frustrated” during Plymouth Argyle vs Liverpool
Slot will especially be disappointed as senior outfield players like Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa, Wataru Endo and Kostas Tsimikas were on the pitch.
But Liverpool simply could not get the job done.
BBC Sport reporter Phil McNulty revealed that Arne Slot kept looking back at his backroom staff in exasperated fashion due to Liverpool’s lack of control against Plymouth.
“Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has turned around to his backroom staff in disgust on a couple of occasions. He is clearly frustrated by Liverpool’s failure to exert any sort of control against a Plymouth side struggling in the Championship.”
“The Premier League leaders may have made those 10 changes but this has still been a distinctly average Liverpool display.”
Liverpool join unwanted list of Premier League teams after Plymouth Argyle defeat
Liverpool became one of the five teams in Premier League history to be topping the table and yet, manage to lose to a side outside the English top-flight in the FA Cup.
The other five include Manchester City against Wigan Athletic (2018), Chelsea against Bradford (2015) and Leeds United against Cardiff (2002). Arne Slot would understandably be frustrated by the result and his side’s appalling showing.
