Everton need to be on the search for midfielders in the current transfer window to improve what is a weak area of the pitch for them, which is why they should cast their eye over Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko due to fresh reports.
The Daily Star claims that Sissoko is one of six individuals that Spurs could be prepared to offload in the summer window to raise transfer funds and they are willing to listen to any offers of around £18million for him.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are crying out for a physical presence in the centre of the park and Everton should plot a move for Sissoko, albeit it would be a gamble if they bring him to Goodison Park.
The 30-year-old is possibly not a player for the long-term and he showed in the past he struggled at first adjusting to life at Spurs following his move from Newcastle United.
There is also the concern that his performances can be a little sporadic at time and that he’s not the most technical on the ball.
But there are plenty of strengths to his game that could be a real fit at Everton, as he’s a brilliant athlete that is so difficult to stop when he gets into full flow and has incredible stamina.
The Toffees midfield has looked lightweight at times this campaign and adding the aggression of the Spurs man would help with that side of the game too.
Additionally, the Merseyside outfit have been guilty of slow build up play and Sissoko is definitely someone that could help speed up that transition from defence to attack with his direct approach.
Sissoko is an £18million risk that could be worth considering ahead of next season and there is a chance he could be the midfield destroyer that they are lacking.
