Everton are said to be interested in signing highly rated Ajax winger David Neres this summer.

UOL Esporte claim the Toffees are among a number of clubs from across Europe tracking the Brazilian speedster.

Neres’ stock has risen high this season after scoring 11 goals and assisting 15 times so far across all competitions.

The 22-year-old is one of the team’s standout players alongside Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt.

He is only in his second season with the Amsterdam giants, but talk is already increasing about his fate for 2019/2020 – and surely Everton stand a great chance of snapping him up.

Intriguingly, Brazilian Neres’ agent Giuliano Bertolucci also represents current Toffees players Bernard and Richarlison, according to UOL.

This could be a huge deal-breaker for Everton if they find themselves in competition with other clubs this summer (Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool have all been mentioned by Le10 Sport).

It could be that Neres ends up at Goodison Park this summer as a result of Bertolucci’s influence.

He would not come cheap though. Neres is hit property and it is thought that it would take €40 million (£34.4 million) to prise him away from Ajax.

The Dutch club are already losing de Jong to Barcelona and de Ligt could well follow – so Neres is surely even more coveted by the club for those reasons.
