Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching footage of Virgil van Dijk being playful with Ibrahima Konate in training.
What’s the story?
Well, the £75m colossus could be seen walking behind Liverpool’s new £36m recruit during Liverpool’s pre-season training in Austria.
When he catches sight of the camera, Van Dijk decides to play a subtle prank on the Frenchman.
As you can see in the footage down below, the Dutchman nudges Konate in the back, before walking off.
At least the 22-year-old saw the funny side of it, as he aims a smile in Van Dijk’s direction.
It may only have been a small thing, but it’s good to see that Van Dijk feels he can mess around with his new teammate so early into his Liverpool career.
Ideal mentor to Ibrahima Konate

Walking into the Premier League as a 22-year-old surely isn’t easy, let alone when you cost such a significant amount of money.
However, under Van Dijk’s tutelage, Konate could thrive.
The Dutchman is eight years older than the Frenchman, and has spent many years in England’s top-flight.
He’ll also know a thing or two about dealing with the pressure of a big price tag, having cost a world-record fee for a defender.

Let’s not forget Joe Gomez and Joel Matip as well, who can also boast tremendous experience and also offer guidance to Konate.
With Jürgen Klopp – a world class coach – at the helm as well, Konate is in a fantastic environment where he can truly thrive.
For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Van Dijk’s playful shove…
