Managers

On the surface, Claudio Ranieri seems to be the more pedigreed and experienced manager, having led Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Inter, Juve, to name a few.

Although it is worth noting that the Italians only major trophies were the Coppa Italia and Copa del Rey.

The bookies probably would not have put Ranieri’s side as title contenders even if he were managing Chelsea or City. Pardew has proven that he can build a squad and have a season long run at the top of the league.

In 2012, he almost led Newcastle United into the Champions League and at the start of the season Palace showed form capable of seeing them push for a European finish.

Coming into next season, Palace will almost certainly be in a better situation than Leicester were at the beginning of the current campaign.

With added experience, some goals up top, consistency at the back, and a touch of fairy dust, who knows who the Premier League’s next underdog will be?
