Defenders
Crystal Palace’s defense, like Wayne Hennessey, has had its moments.
Before the Christmas slump, the club had conceded only 15 goals – the 5th best record in the league at the time – and six less than Leicester at that stage.
The difference between the backlines, however, is seen in Leicester’s Robert Huth. Huth has made over 200 premier league appearances and was part of Chelsea’s 2005-2006 squad that won the league.
Having played for Boro, Chelsea, Stoke, and now Ranieri’s Foxes, the center-back’s presence, leadership, and experience is indispensable to Leicester’s charge.
Despite Scott Dann’s phenomenal form this season and Damien Delaney’s commitment to the club, neither player has the experience of the German.
At 34 years of age, Delaney may see competition for his spot and it would be wise of Pardew to find not only a younger center-back, but one who has led a top flight backline for several seasons.
