Why Claudio Ranieri must drop Fulham flop Jean-Michael Seri against Leicester

Just under five minutes into Fulham’s weekend loss against Chelsea, Jean-Michael Seri gave the ball away in a terrible position, gifting the Blues their opening goal.

Unfortunately for the Whites, Seri’s mistakes have been a fixture of Fulham’s Premier League season, and Claudio Ranieri must drop the big-money summer signing for tonight’s match against Leicester City.

Against the Foxes, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa will return to full fitness after missing the last two matches through injury.

Ranieri is known to favour a solid, defensive central midfield partnership and a potential duo of Calum Chambers and Anguissa would be an effective option against Leicester.

Tipped to be one of the best acquisitions of the transfer window, the Ivorian international has consistently looked off the pace, misplacing passes constantly, delivering awful set-pieces, and failing to control matches in the centre of the park.

While Anguissa has also had his fair share of struggles adapting to English football, the Cameroonian nevertheless offers a higher defensive work rate and is better suited to Ranieri’s style of play.

In Fulham’s must-win home watch against Leicester tonight, Claudio Ranieri must make a bold, yet necessary decision and select Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa ahead of the underwhelming Jean-Michael Seri.
