West Ham United have made a bid to sign Andre Gomes from Barcelona this summer, according to Sky Sports News.
They report that the Hammers have tabled £18m for the silky Portuguese playmaker, but have seen it turned away by the Spanish giants.
The report says that the La Liga champions are willing to sell Gomes this summer, but want a fee between £25 million and £35 million for his services.
Of course, Gomes spent 2018/19 on loan at Everton, where he impressed the Goodison Park faithful with his impressive range of passing and willingness to get stuck in.

It’s always a delicate situation when it comes to a club buying a player they’ve had on loan – it’s essentially spending big to have the same options as the season before.
But in Everton’s case, it’s necessary – there aren’t many better options who can marry silk and steel in that central midfield role and none of them have proven themselves in the same way Gomes has this season.
All things being equal, Gomes should prefer to stay in Merseyside – at a team with which he is already settled and finished higher than West Ham in the Premier League last time around.
Marco Silva’s preferred brand of football is also starting to bear fruit and Gomes must want to be a part of that – so if it’s a choice between Everton and West Ham, the midfielder should stick where he is, rather than twist.
