Sergio Aguero – Manchester City

Goals: 16

Minutes per Goal: 112

Shooting Accuracy: 54%

Having suffered his customary mid-season injury, Sergio Aguero is back fit and firing for Manchester City, and looking to secure their place in the top four after their title challenge faltered to a dismal halt with defeat in the Manchester Derby.

City have now not scored in two league games and have in fact lost four of their last six, limiting Aguero’s chances of launching a late campaign for the Golden Boot. However, the Argentine has still managed nine goals in 2016, a total only bettered by top scorer Kane, and with the return of Kevin De Bruyne imminent, he will have his best source of assists back in the side for the remainder of the season.

Assessing the stats purely on goals per minute, Aguero is the clear leader in the division, showing that whilst he is not the most accurate with his shooting, he is probably the best goal-scorer in the league. If City are to save their season and get firing again, Aguero will be the man who scores the goals to get them back up the league.

With just eight games remaining, Aguero may struggle to score enough goals to catch Harry Kane, but with the return of De Bruyne, he may score enough to preserve his record of having the best goals per minute ratio in the league. If only he wasn’t injured all of the time.
