Romelu Lukaku – Everton

Goals: 18

Minutes per Goal: 140

Shooting Accuracy: 53%

Much like the electric Jamie Vardy, Everton’s ebullient striker Romelu Lukaku is high up in the scoring charts as a result of his excellent early season form. Whilst Vardy was grabbing headlines with his eleven game scoring streak, Lukaku was quietly tucking them away for free-scoring Everton, and at the turn of the year was tied with the Englishman at the top of the scoring charts with fifteen goals.

Although Lukaku endured a bit of a drought during January and February, the powerful Belgian has managed to score three in his last five for Everton, who bafflingly languish down in twelfth place in the league despite being the fourth highest goal-scorers in the division and with a healthy goal difference of ten.

Despite Everton’s problems in winning games, Lukaku has continued to score throughout the season. With power, pace and great finishing to boot, the Belgian could easily use Everton’s nine remaining games to put together a strong scoring run that would be enough to catch Kane at the top of the charts.

With a fairly low shooting accuracy, Lukaku may need to focus on hitting the target more until the end of the season if he is going to win the Golden Boot, but with the level of raw talent that he has, don’t be surprised if he does.
