Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur
Goals: 21
Minutes per goal: 130
Shooting Accuracy: 63%
Going into the Premier League season, there were many doubts over whether Harry Kane would actually be a success during the 2015/16 campaign. Despite scoring 30 goals in all competitions for Spurs in his break-out term, many thought that Kane would suffer from so called ‘second-season syndrome’ and cease to have the same impact on the Tottenham Hotspur team who had so relied on his goals over the twelve months previous.
For a while, it looked as if the doubters might be proved right. It took Kane until the end of September to score his first goal of the season, but a hat-trick against Bournemouth at the end of October got his tally moving in the right direction. Kane had 11 by the end of 2015, and has already added a further ten to his total in the first three months of the year to take his total up to 21. Better than that, Kane has scored doubles in his last two games, and has five in his last three.
Not only is Kane in great form himself, but the creative players around him are giving him plenty of chances to shine. Christian Eriksen has come into form, and Dele Alli has been providing Kane with assists all season long. Spurs have scored a league high 56 goals this season, and with seven massive games ahead with a title on the line.
Spurs face some tricky games, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Stoke City their next three fixtures, as well as a trip to Stamford Bridge before the season is out. Tottenham will therefore have to work hard to continue their fabulous goal scoring form. If they do however, Kane will be the man to score them. At present, he is England’s best striker, and the clear favourite to take the golden boot.
