With the international break done and dusted, the Premier League season is entering its final furlong. There are now just a little over six weeks separating the country’s top twenty clubs from the seasons end on 15th May, there are still plenty of prizes to play for.
Leicester City will hope to hold off the challenge of Tottenham Hotspur to claim the most amazing of all Premier League triumphs, Manchester City will be nervously looking over their shoulder at the charging West Ham United and Manchester United in order to secure Champions League level football for new manager Pep Guardiola, and Norwich, Sunderland and Newcastle face a nervous end to the season in their quest to remain at the top table of English football.
Despite there being so many riches available for all teams across the division, the last couple of months of the season also mean that the season’s individual awards get handed out. There are a number of stellar candidates for the PFA and Football Writers’ player of the season, and competition will be fierce to make it into the team of the year.
For the strikers of the league, the last seven or eight games of the year represent the chance to go on a good goal-scoring run and fire their team to glory.
