Garry Monk

Garry Monk is still a very inexperienced manager, but that should not deter Bristol City from at least talking to the man from Bedford, who was at Swansea in one capacity or another for ten years.

The 36-year-old’s managerial tenure at Swansea was mixed – starting with a 3-0 Premier League South Wales derby win over Cardiff City in February 2014, and ultimately ending with his sacking before Christmas of 2015. Over 77 games Monk emerged with a credible 36% win ratio, and bagged Manager of the Month in August 2014 after Swansea sat joint top of the league and beat Manchester United at Old Trafford.

At first glance I’m sure Monk is not the headline grabber that Bristol City fans would want as manager, but he should equally not be categorically ruled out. Garry Monk is more likely to say yes to Lansdown than some of the potential managers on this list, and with Premier League experience he is streets ahead of some other candidates – watch this space.
