Stuart Pearce
A late bloomer, Pearce rose from outsider to favourite in recent days before falling back slightly again. Pearce admitted on TALKSport Radio his interest in the job, but stated no contact had been made. If City received rejections from first choice candidates and required a second (or third) string category of potential managers then the ex-Forest man would be in contention.
Out of work since leaving the dugout of the City Ground in February 2015, Pearce’s managerial CV leaves much to be desired, yet is not as dire as perhaps some think. Six years as England U21 boss will have aided his abilities with younger players and he enjoyed relative success with Manchester City with a 35% win record over nearly 100 games.
The 53-year-old lead Forest to an unbeaten start to last season attaining 13/15 possible points, and remains one of the more likely appointments to Bristol City, if the club cannot attract the likes of Pearson or Moyes.
