Nigel Pearson
Nigel Pearson is many City fan’s first choice, and it is not hard to understand why. Controversies over ostrich-calling, the actions of his son and throttling James McArthur aside, Pearson has a fantastic managerial CV. He has won both League One and the Championship with Leicester City as well as the LMA Championship manager of the year in 2014.
The 52-year-old arguably laid the foundations for the success of Leicester City this season, and kept the Foxes up against all odds. However Pearson’s temperament appears a blot on his copybook and the chances of him joining City are small, at this moment in time at least.
Pearson may well be more tempted (if still unemployed) to join City this summer if they have guaranteed themselves second tier football – by no means a certainty at this point in time.
