Worst:
N’Golo Kante
This was probably the most vulnerable anyone has ever seen the Frenchman. He still offered his usual quick turns and passes, but his ability to break up play fell dramatically. He couldn’t deal with the likes of Henderson and Wijnaldum in this game, and struggled to combine with Nemanja Matic to dominate the midfield.
There’s no doubting his ability, but this was a night to forget for the new signing.
Gary Cahill
It’s not been a good week for Cahill – unhappy at the refereeing display last week, and caught out defending this week. The Englishman was left marking five Liverpool players for the opener, and was then unable to get close to Henderson’s curler.
With Sam Allardyce watching on, he will want to get back to playing well, and quickly.
