Who was your man of the match as Bayern Munich trounced Arsenal in the Champions League?
From the moment that Arsenal were drawn against Bayern Munich in the Champions League’s first knock-out round, Arsenal fans had a sharp intake of breath. When Arjen Robben opened the scoring in the eleventh minute, it seemed that all of their fears would come true.
Cue Alexis Sanchez. The Gunners’ saviour time and time again over the past few seasons, if anyone could get them out of this mess it would be the Chilean. Even missing a penalty he could do no wrong, scoring on the rebound with his third attempt.
The injury to Laurent Koscielny was a blow, but not as big as the imperial header from Robert Lewandowski that gave the home side the lead, nor the double of fine strikers from midfielder Thiago, or even the goal which rubbed salt into the wound as Thomas Muller put his side even further ahead.
Now Arsene Wenger’s side will need to score four more than the Bundesliga champions at the Emirates, a tough task, but who was your man of the match tonight?
