RB Leipzig’s newest star, Yan Diomande, is on the radar for plenty of Premier League teams after an impressive start to life in the Bundesliga.

TBR Football understands that Diomande is being scouted by Premier League giants such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham.

They aren’t alone, as the RB Leipzig gem has also been watched by other big clubs across Europe.

Jurgen Klopp, who is Head of Global Soccer for the Red Bull group, believes Diomande is one of the best young talents in the world, comparable to the talent they had at Salzburg with Erling Haaland.

But just who is Yan Diomande, and why are Premier League teams already keeping an eye on him for a potential future transfer? Here’s a look at everything you need to know.

Who is Yan Diomande

Yan Diomande is an 18-year-old forward who plays for Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.

The youngster has had quite a rise through his career, moving from the Ivory Coast to the USA in 2022 to pursue his dreams.

While there, he came through the ranks to play for the DME academy, showcasing his footballing talent.

In January 2025, Spanish outfit Leganes pounced quickly to sign Diomande up as a free transfer, where he went on to make just ten appearances before another opportunity arose.

With a release clause in his contract, RB Leipzig moved to sign the forward in the summer, with a five-year deal offered to him.

Leipzig are well-known for finding value in the market through young players, and Diomande may be their latest example of that.

What is Yan Diomande’s position

Yan Diomande is a left-winger, but his strongest foot is his right, allowing him to cut inside and cause problems for defenders.

Goals and assists have flown early on at RB Leipzig for the 18-year-old, who is rapidly gaining a reputation at the top.

At 1.80 metres tall (five feet and 11 inches), the winger is able to compete physically while he eases his way into senior football.

Yan Diomande’s nationality

Yan Diomande was born in Abidjan in the Ivory Coast, which means he is eligible for the national team.

Despite his age and recent emergence into professional football, the winger has already received call-ups on the international stage.

It started with an under-23s call-up for the Ivory Coast in June 2025, with just one appearance made there before he joined up with the senior side in October 2025.

With less than a season in professional football, it can be tough to see exactly what type of player Yan Diomande is.

However, the player himself has tried to explain that when talking to Transfermarkt.

He said: “I think Vinicius Junior is the best player in comparison. When it comes to mindset, my role model is Kylian Mbappe.

“I think you must have a good mentality. I think if your heart and mind are okay, then you will be okay overall. I try to work on that the most.”

If Diomande can hit the heights of those players, then he will be the next big star.

Premier League transfer interest in Yan Diomande

TBR Football understands that Premier League clubs have been watching Yan Diomande’s progress at RB Leipzig.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham have all been keeping an eye on the star so far.

They are joined by European giants such as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

There is no clause in Diomande’s deal, with €100 million (£88 million) being touted as a potential price point for the future.
