Alan Pardew
Pardew may be one of the biggest shocks to see in contention, given that he was previously in charge of the club between 2009 and 2010 when the Saints were in League One. Pardew won the then named Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in the first title for the club since 1976 before being sacked over off the field concerns.
After rollercoaster rides at Newcastle and Crystal Palace, Pardew is sure to be hoping for a Premier League return sooner rather than later, and the Saints could offer an attractiveness proposition, if anything being a step up from the Eagles in his last job.
However, the club may not be so keen on a deal, given that the manager does not have a track record of rebuilding squads from scratch or bringing through young talent. His showmanship does not particularly fit the club in the post-Nicola Cortese era and he could be a surprise appointment if chosen.
