Which of these Liverpool youngsters are most likely to achieve greatness next season?
Liverpool already have a fairly young starting eleven and squad in general, with this aspect being boosted by the heralded influx of academy products into the senior squad. Jordon Ibe really made an impression in 2014/15, with Raheem Sterling and Jon Flanagan coming to the fore a couple of campaigns previously.
However, there are not only success stories when it comes to making the step up into the first team. Jordan Rossiter – hoped by many Reds to be ‘the next Steven Gerrard’ – is off to Rangers, Jerome Sinclair – who still holds the record for Liverpool’s youngest ever player – is almost certain to follow the Englishman out of the door for a fairly insignificant fee, while the promising Portuguese youngster Joao Carlos Teixeira is unlikely to stay at Anfield with his contract running out and not able to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s plans.
If there are to be break-through stars for Liverpool in 2016/17, who are the most likely three youngsters to make the grade? Over the following pages, some of those with the greatest potential to succeed are examined. Leave your thoughts and opinions on the selections in the comments section below, especially if you have an alternative player who you feel has been missed off the list.
