Whether Tottenham could still sign Ivan Toney after getting Dominic Solanke this summer

Tottenham are set to sign Dominic Solanke from Tottenham this summer as Spurs close in on a deal to sign the Bournemouth star.

The England international is set to join Tottenham imminently, but that not be the end of Tottenham’s striker recruitment.

Indeed, according to The Mirror’s Ryan Taylor, speaking on The Spurs Chat Podcast, Tottenham could still go for another striker this summer if Richarlison leaves.

Ivan Toney has been strongly linked with a move to Spurs, and according to Taylor, a move for Toney could potentially still be possible this summer.

Ivan Toney to Tottenham is still possible after Dominic Solanke move

Taylor shared his verdict on whether Tottenham could still go for Ivan Toney.

“I think if Richarlison leaves it goes without saying that Tottenham will go for another striker,” Taylor said.

“I don’t know too much about Toney at this stage, but I know that others have reported there is interested. Brentford do need to consider offers for Toney this summer because of his contract situation. I would say that might be one that is considered.”

“However, with Solanke coming in for a £60m fee, Toney might sort of speculate as to whether or not he’d be a main man at Tottenham. There are a lot of moving parts here, and we’re talking hypothetically so nothing concrete on that.”

Toney and Solanke would be incredible options

All of a sudden, Tottenham could go from having a distinct lack of centre-forward options to two of the best in the Premier League.

Solanke and Toney have shown that they’re capable of hitting 20 goals in a Premier League season, and with their combined abilities and skillsets, Tottenham could have an absolutely lethal strikeforce next season.

Tottenham could be unbelievable in an attacking sense if they can sign both Toney and Solanke.
