Whether Nicolas Jackson to Bayern Munich could still happen with Chelsea ‘investigating options’

TBR Football understands that Nicolas Jackson has now returned to London after Chelsea called off his move to Bayern Munich.

Sources informed TBR Football that Jackson and Bayern hope to secure another deal within the next 48 hours, and we are told they are exploring options.

Like with Chelsea’s deal for Facundo Buonanotte – the Blues are looking at the loan market to see if they can come up with an option.

Bayern were due to pay Chelsea around £13 million for the loan, with the option to make the move permanent for approximately £56 million.

Exclusive: Nicolas Jackson is eager to move to Bayern Munich

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has revealed Chelsea are investigating their options before the 1 September deadline as Jackson looks to force through his move to Germany.

Bailey states: “Nicolas Jackson is not happy at all, I am being told – he still hopes it could happen, but he has been forced to come home.

“Chelsea think they have to do this, they had agreed a deal with an option – they were happy with their deal as it was worth £70m if Bayern went through with it.

“However, Liam Delap could be out until November, and Chelsea want two first-team players in every position. This is hugely unfortunate, but Chelsea feel it is the sensible choice.

“Jackson and his people have been busy on the phone to Chelsea, almost begging them to let it happen – but Chelsea have been firm – he has had to return to London.

“Chelsea are investigating options, but it looks difficult at this stage.”

Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win against Fulham on Saturday, with Enzo Maresca confirming the forward will be sidelined between six and eight weeks.

The injury setback certainly complicates matters for Chelsea; exit-linked Tyrique George replaced the English forward at Stamford Bridge, but Maresca is aware the 19-year-old is not a long-term solution.

Jackson has not played for Chelsea at all at the beginning of the season as the Senegalese international prepared to leave Stamford Bridge, and he still intends to be granted his exit before the deadline.

Aston Villa could swoop for Nicolas Jackson

TBR Football reported that Unai Emery loves Jackson and could make a move for the 24-year-old in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Although the forward has given his preference to Bayern, the Villans would pursue a permanent deal as opposed to a loan, which would suit Chelsea better.

Indeed, Delap’s injury complicates matters at Stamford Bridge and will force Maresca back into the market, as Jackson reiterates his desire to leave despite the setback.

The Blues, of course, confirmed the capture of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United on Saturday, but are insistent on replacing Jackson before sanctioning a potential departure.
