David Moyes – Unattached
If David Moyes were to become Everton manager again, there would be no danger of inexperience in the league or at the club.
The Scotsman spent 11 years on Merseyside, before he left to become Manchester United manager in 2013.
Since then, Moyes has managed Spanish club Real Sociedad but after a six-month absence from football, he is looking for a new challenge.
Moyes may well be the trustworthy appointment that the Toffees need to get them back into European contention, while the 53-year-old also signed John Stones and could well be the difference in keeping the young defender at the club.
On the other hand, this could be seen as taking a step backwards to some Everton fans.
Appointing Moyes could be seen as showing a lack of ambition and one key aspect of the job this summer will be to use any transfer money wisely in order to build a team strong enough to push for Europe.
David Moyes made Everton a resilient force and Roberto Martinez may have made them more attractive when attacking, but now it must be about appointing a manager who can find a balance rather than turning to a former manager.
The club have a fantastic, young squad and with a new Billionaire owner ready to supply transfer funds, the Everton job is an attractive prospect. The club need a manager who can ground the talented, young players already at the club, whilst possessing the ability to improve the squad in the summer.
