Frank De Boer – Unattached

The Dutchman is the bookies favourite and recently resigned as manager of Ajax as they surrendered the Eredivisie title to PSV Eindhoven on the final day.

Being just 45-years-old, De Boer has undoubtedly got a bright future in management ahead of him and has already won four league titles with Ajax.

His adopted philosophy is the short passing game and is similar to that of Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United.

Van Gaal has had his critics over the past two seasons as many fans condemn him for too much sideways passing and this could put some Everton fans off opting for De Boer.

It is fair to say that the Manchester United defence doesn’t concede many in what could be described as a ‘safe’ approach and Everton will definitely be looking to strengthen their backline.

De Boer is inexperienced in the Premier League but that said, Ronald Koeman came to Southampton with no experience of the league and has done a fantastic job, both rebuilding and improving consistency.

Choosing De Boer would certainly provide a fresh approach but perhaps a more proven manager in both the league and in the transfer market is what the club needs if there is going to be a sizeable transfer kitty to spend.
