Joe Hart is retiring at the end of the season.
The England international goalkeeper has called time on his playing career, and it’s fair to say that Hart has been on an incredible journey over the past 20 years.
From Shrewsbury Town all the way to Celtic, Hart has had a rollercoaster of a career full of highs and lows.
At his peak, he was one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League at Manchester City, but once his peak came to an end, his decline was sharp as he struggled at the likes of West Ham and Burnley.
In 2020, Hart moved to Tottenham to be the second-choice goalkeeper in north London, and speaking on TalkSPORT, Simon Jordan has stated that he is still baffled by that move to this day.

Joe Hart to Tottenham remains confusing
Jordan shared his verdict on Hart’s career and some of his decisions.
‘I think if you look at the Manchester City move and you look at his career after that, maybe Pep Guardiola saw precisely where he was going. We talk persistence, there was a tacit acceptance of going into Tottenham Hotspur behind Hugo Lloris that you’re going to be a number two goalkeeper. Where did that come from? Is that persistence or is that acceptance?’
Difficult
It’s always difficult coming to terms with the fact your abilities have declined, and while that move to Tottenham may have been ill-advised for Hart, we can understand why he made this move.
Regardless of the minutes he would get, Spurs are a fantastic club, and he did still play plenty of football in the cup and in Europe.
Life as a second-choice goalkeeper really isn’t all that bad, and we can’t bemoan Hart for joining Spurs for a year as his Premier League career started to wind down.
