It’s ten years since Liverpool were last defeated in the Merseyside-derby and they’ll hope to keep their long-standing unbeaten run intact tomorrow.
The two teams meet at Goodison Park with Everton putting their perfect start to the campaign on the line, against a Liverpool team who were beaten 7-2 by Aston Villa last time out.

Liverpool were missing Thiago Alcantara and Sadio Mane at Villa Park and both count return for tomorrow’s massive game.
After so long without tasting defeat on derby-day, we looked back at the Liverpool team from that day and asked the question of where are they now?
GK – Pepe Reina
Back then, the Spaniard was in the form of his life and was firmly established as the club’s number one. He spent some time on loan at Aston Villa last season and is now playing for Lazio.
RB – Jamie Carragher
The Sky Sports pundit was coming into the twilight of his career in 2010. Against Everton, he was asked to play right-back and didn’t cope overly well with the Toffees attack.
CB – Martin Skrtel
The Slovakian has made 104 appearances for his country and is currently playing for Istanbul in Turkey. He played 320 games for the Reds and became a fan favourite at Anfield.

CB – Sotirios Kyrgiakos
Now 41, the uncompromising Greek defender played 61 times for his country but was never really cut out for the Premier League. He made 30 appearances for the Reds and after some time at Sunderland, he finished his career in Sydney.
LB – Paul Konchesky
Eyebrows were raised when Konchesky signed for Liverpool in 2010 and it’s no surprise that this outing was just one of 15 appearances. He went on loan to Forest and was sold to Leicester a year later. He is now Jamie O’Hara’s assistant manager at Billericay.
CM – Steven Gerrard
The captain of the team during Liverpool’s last loss in the derby, Gerrard is currently managing Rangers. A genuine Reds legend and arguably the best player to ever grace the football club.
CM – Lucas Leiva
The Brazilian was another fan favourite and is still playing in Serie A for Lazio. Lucas played 346 times for Liverpool and only departed as recently as 2017, heading for Rome.

CM – Raul Meireles
The former midfielder now works as a TV presenter in Portugal, recently hosting their version of Lip Sync Battle. On the football pitch, he was very inconsistent for Liverpool, playing just 35 times for the club.
RW – Maxi Rodriguez
A scorer of great goals rather than a great goalscorer, Rodriguez is still playing for Newell’s Old Boys at the age of 39. He played 57 times for Liverpool before leaving to return to Argentina in 2012.
LW – Joe Cole
When the forward swapped Stamford Bridge for Anfield in 2010 it was deemed a solid swoop by Liverpool. He managed just 26 appearances in three years though as injuries blighted his progress. Cole now works on BT Sport as a pundit.
ST – Fernando Torres
Ask some Liverpool fans to pick their all-time XI and Torres would earn a place. His £50 million transfer to Chelsea didn’t go according to plan and the Reds definitely saw the best of the Spaniard in the Premier League. He scored 81 goals in 142 appearances and retired in the summer after a spell with Sagan in Japan.

Subs
Milan Jovanovic
The less said the better really, played just 10 times for Liverpool and lasted just a single season.
Ryan Babel
The forward recently signed for Ajax again for a third spell. Never really caught fire at Liverpool managing 12 goals in 91 appearances.
David N’Gog
Was only a youngster during his time at Liverpool and struggled to win a regular place in the team. Scored nine times in 63 appearances and is now playing for Zalgiris in Lithuania.
Manager – Roy Hodgson
It was always a risk for Liverpool to appoint domestic option Roy Hodgson and quite simply, his tenure was a disaster from start to finish. He oversaw 31 games at Anfield, winning 13, drawing nine and losing nine. Hodgson departed just six months after he was appointed.
