‘When you look’: Patrick Vieira makes interesting claim about Leeds attackers after watching them play last night

Leeds United ground out a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace, earning what could prove to be a vital point in the relegation battle.

The Whites’ run-in is hard, with Manchester City up next in the Premier League and two straight wins for Burnley causing nervousness at the foot of the table.

On Monday Night Football, Jamie Carragher pointed out the narrowness of Jesse Marsch’s front four, which is a change he has made since taking over from Marcelo Bielsa.

And speaking after the game, Patrick Vieira praised the Leeds’ frontline as per the Yorkshire Evening Post, but was pleased with his own side’s performance.

“When you look at their (Leeds’) front four, they play with a lot of intensity and try to close people down,” said Vieira.

“I was really happy because we moved the ball well.

“We moved it quick enough to create those kind of overloads on the side and we had a couple of good crosses.

“I think our tempo of our passing was good.”

It was not the most attractive Leeds performance but it earned a vital result and maintains the confidence of the side going into that City clash.

Pep Guardiola’s men will be formidable opponents, and of course won 7-0 in the season’s reverse fixture when Bielsa was in charge.

Leeds will make it a closer game this time around and could have a bearing on the title race if they get a result, but their priority will be moving closer to safety.
