When Harry Kane could return to Tottenham after his comments this week

Harry Kane may have played down speculation he could return to Tottenham, but one journalist believes it will eventually happen.

Kane left to join Bayern Munich in an £86million deal in 2023 and has since scored over 100 goals for the club, while he also led them to the Bundesliga title last season.

However, after he finally broke his trophy duck, Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank admitted he would like to see the striker make a surprise Premier League comeback.

A clause in Kane’s contract means he could leave Bayern for less than £60million, and TBR Football exclusively revealed that Tottenham could easily afford him.

But there may be a catch, according to Press Association reporter George Sessions.

Harry Kane tipped to eventually make Tottenham comeback

Sessions has predicted that Harry Kane will indeed return to his boyhood club, but only at the end of his current Bayern Munich contract.

Speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, he said: “I do think he will, I genuinely do think he will come back to Tottenham.

“I just don’t know when that is, and it’s sort of everything that’s happened over the last few days just points us in the direction that it’s going to be kind of north of 2027, I’d say.”

The 32-year-old has already scored 18 goals in his 10 appearances across all competitions this season, and has shown no signs that he is agitating for a move away next summer.

This comes despite Real Madrid wanting to sign Kane, as TBR Football previously reported.

He could be tempted, though, to try and beat Alan Shearer’s goals record in the Premier League, needing just 48 more to top the Newcastle legend’s tally of 260.

Harry Kane on Premier League rumours

Earlier this week, Kane insisted his interest in returning to England had fizzled out, and he is now open to extending his stay at Bayern Munich.

“In terms of staying longer, I could definitely see that,” he said. “I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise I would be willing to talk and have an honest conversation.

“Obviously it depends on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

“In terms of the Premier League, I don’t know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

“Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn’t say I would never go back.

“What I have learned in my career is that different opportunities and different timings happen and things fall in place. Going back to my first point, right now I am fully all in with Bayern.”
