Bukayo Saka limped off against Greece last week on England duty, and Arsenal fans have been waiting for an update on the winger with bated breath.
Saka is undoubtedly one of Arsenal’s most important players, and the Gunners need to keep their star man fit if they want to win the league.
Ian Wright has expressed his worry about Saka’s fitness recently, and it looks as though those concerns may now have come to pass.
However, according to Chris Wheatley, speaking on Shots TV, Saka’s injury doesn’t appear to be too bad.
Indeed, Wheatley says that he saw Saka in the mixed zone after that game, and while he was moving gingerly, he didn’t appear to be in any serious amount of pain.

Bukayo Saka injury update issued
Wheatley shared what he noticed when he saw Saka in the mixed zone.
The journalist says that at first glance things didn’t look too serious, claiming that he wasn’t walking too badly.
“Saka limped out of that game and I did see him as he walked away gingerly out of the mixed zone. He didn’t answer any questions from the media, but from first glance, it didn’t look anything too serious. He wasn’t on crutches at least and he wasn’t walking too badly. Hopefully it’s not too bad,” Wheatley said.
What Tony Adams has said about Saka
Regardless of whether this injury is serious or not, this latest issue only further serves the argument that Saka needs a rest.
The winger has been playing non-stop football for basically three years straight at this point as he’s barely had a break from Arsenal or England duty.
Tony Adams has previously claimed that Mikel Arteta is using Saka too much.
“Last year he was phenomenal. Don’t forget, if I have one criticism on Arteta he plays him every single game. He doesn’t give him any rest whatsoever. Maybe he doesn’t trust what’s coming through underneath him. If he was like Grealish or playing for Man City, Saka would be right up there,” Adams said.
Saka has often limped out of games for both Arsenal and England, and while he has avoided serious injury up until this point, all these knocks do add up.
Arsenal face Bournemouth this weekend, and perhaps that is a good opportunity for Mikel Arteta to give Saka a much-needed rest in order to be fresh for that huge game against Liverpool next week.
