Trent Alexander-Arnold has the biggest decision of his career to make in the coming months.

The right-back has entered the final year of his Liverpool contract, and he needs to decide what he’s going to do next.

Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Alexander-Arnold, and the defender has a huge call to make.

Does Alexander-Arnold stay with his boyhood club and eventually become the Liverpool captain? Or does he join the biggest club in the world in search of new experiences and more silverware.

Speaking on ESPN, James Olley has been discussing Alexander-Arnold’s dilemma, and he says that the defender’s family are being quite demanding to Liverpool at the moment.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s family are being demanding

Olley shared what he knows about these contract negotiations.

“Trent Alexander-Arnold had a very good agent, he left him and now the family are looking after him. This will be a massive contract that will require expertise, and I think his family have been quite demanding in terms of what they want for him – that’s not a criticism. But I think that the club would be more confident if they were dealing with his old agent or an agent of long standing,” Olley said.

Trent Alexander-Arnold deserves a lot

Alexander-Arnold’s family are asking for a lot from Liverpool, and, to be honest, they have every right to.

Alexander-Arnold is at a perfect age to get a big contract, and he’s been delivering for Liverpool for a long time now.

Make no mistake about it, Alexander-Arnold is one of the best players in the world, and he deserves a wage that reflects his ability.

Of course, loyalty comes into Alexander-Arnold’s decision, but Liverpool need to show the same loyalty to their player that they expect the defender to show to the club.

This contract situation should be resolved, but Liverpool will need to cough up the cash to keep their star man.
