Micky Van de Ven joined Tottenham this summer, and to say that he hit the ground running would be an understatement.
The defender has taken to life in the Premier League like a duck to water. He’s been utterly fantastic in almost every game he’s played for Spurs so far, and it sounds as though he’s also making a real impression behind the scenes too.
Indeed, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Jack Pitt-Brooke has been speaking about Van de Ven’s personality and how he’s settling at Tottenham and he says that everything he’s heard suggests that the defender is a really impressive individual who is wholly dedicated to his craft.

Van de Ven has the perfect personality
Pitt-Brooke shared what he knows about the defender.
“I get the impression that’s what Van de Ven is like, personally I have never met Van de Ven, so I can’t talk too much about what he’s like, but everything I’ve heard is that he’s a really impressive guy, very smart, very humble, very thoughtful, very dedicated to his football, and that’s what you need,” Pitt-Brooke said.
Could get even better
This is very exciting to hear.
Van de Ven is already looking like an utterly brilliant player at Spurs and the fact that he’s so dedicated to football means that he’s only likely to improve.
Combine a top-class work ethic with a coach as brilliant as Ange Postecoglou and your trajectory is only going to be positive.
Van de Ven seems like the type of player who is going to knuckle down, work hard and improve year on year, and if he continues moving in the right direction, who knows? Perhaps he could even be captain material for Tottenham at some point.
Spurs have uncovered a gem here, that’s for sure.
