A fresh report has shared what the mood was like in the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room after the defeat to Chelsea last night.
The Athletic claims that Tottenham’s players were proud of their display despite suffering a 4-1 defeat to their London rivals.
Tottenham were eventually undone in the latter stages of the game on Monday night after a resilient performance.
Dejan Kulusevski had given Ange Postecoglou’s men the lead inside six minutes but Cristian Romero’s red card completely changed the game.
The Argentine’s rash challenge on Enzo Fernandez led to a penalty for the Blues and Cole Palmer made no mistake from the spot.
Things only got worse for Spurs in the second half as Destiny Udogie was shown red after a late challenge on Raheem Sterling led to a second yellow card in the 55th minute.
Despite being two men down, Tottenham continued to push high up the pitch and attempt to take the game to Chelsea.
They stayed in it right up until stoppage time as Nicolas Jackson netted a quickfire brace after his goal in the 75th minute.
And it seems there is a sense of pride among Tottenham’s players following their first defeat of the Premier League season.

What the mood was like in the Tottenham dressing room after Chelsea defeat
The Athletic reports that the mood inside the Tottenham dressing room was ‘one of defiance’ after the defeat to Chelsea.
It’s noted there was a sense of pride as the players continued to play Postecoglou’s style of football despite going down to nine men.
Of course, Spurs also lost two key players in Micky van de Ven and James Maddison to injury.

Tottenham very nearly caused a major upset as they created a few decent opportunities after falling 2-1 behind.
Eric Dier had the ball in the back of the net after a brilliant first-time volley but was ruled offside by the VAR.
Rodrigo Bentancur and Son Heung-Min also went close just moments before Nicolas Jackson put the game beyond doubt.
But for the Tottenham players who remained on the pitch on Monday evening, they have every right to feel proud of their performance.
