What sources close to Tottenham are saying about signing former Chelsea star Tammy Abraham this summer

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a surprise move for AS Roma striker and former Chelsea star Tammy Abraham in recent weeks.

The Englishman is expected to be on the move this summer after a difficult year in the Italian capital and is reportedly on Tottenham’s radar.

Tammy Abraham netted 27 times in his debut season at Roma just two years ago but has since struggled with injuries.

Abraham managed just one goal in 12 appearances for the Serie A giants last season and despite his struggles, Spurs are tempted by a move for the forward.

TBR Football revealed earlier this month that Abraham’s price tag of £28 million is seen as excellent value by a host of Premier League sides, including Tottenham.

Now, it would appear that Abraham could yet come into Tottenham’s thinking should they fail to land their preferred striker target this summer.

What Tottenham sources have said about Abraham

GiveMeSport has shared the latest on Tottenham’s interest in signing Abraham this summer.

It’s claimed that sources close to Tottenham have indicated that Abraham isn’t viewed as one of their priority targets.

But they have admitted that he could become the ‘best value option’ of the current forward players on their radar.

Abraham signing would be underwhelming for Tottenham

Spurs supporters are probably expecting the club to make a statement should they move for a striker as expected this summer.

Bringing in the likes of Ivan Toney, Santiago Gimenez and Serhou Guirassy would all excite Tottenham fans.

However, a move for Abraham would likely receive the opposite reaction after a couple of underwhelming years in Serie A.

After his exceptional debut season following his switch from Chelsea in the summer of 2021, Abraham has netted just 10 goals over the past two years.
