Raheem Sterling to Arsenal has been one of the stories of deadline day.

The Chelsea winger has been linked with Arsenal as we enter the final hours of the transfer window.

Arsenal are on the hunt for a new winger, and Sterling could be just what the doctor ordered.

Unfortunately though, it now sounds as though this deal is unlikely.

Raheem Sterling to Arsenal is unlikely

According to The Athletic, Sterling to Arsenal isn’t a goer.

The Athletic report that there is no indication that anything is developing with Sterling an Arsenal at the moment.

Of course, things can change late in the transfer window, but, at the moment, it doesn’t look like this is going to happen.

The Athletic do note that a move to Arsenal could appeal to Sterling due to their location, their recent success and the presence of Mikel Arteta at the club, this one isn’t developing.

Raheem Sterling needs a move

It sounds as though Sterling won’t be on his way to Arsenal, but the winger does need a move.

Sterling has no future at Chelsea as things stand, and that isn’t going to change anytime soon.

Enzo Maresca has been clear about the fact he doesn’t want to use the winger this season, and with the clock ticking towards the deadline, desperation may soon set in.

Arsenal aren’t moving forward on this deal as things stand, but there are plenty of teams in the Premier League who would seriously benefit from landing a player of Sterling’s quality and pedigree.

Sterling hasn’t been at his best as of late, but he’s still a proven commodity at this level, and there will surely be some interested parties before the transfer deadline.

Sterling’s situation is certainly one to keep an eye on as we get closer to the deadline.
