Arsenal struck gold this summer when they signed Gabriel Jesus, that’s for sure.
Edu and Mikel Arteta opted to wait for the right signing to come along, and they did superbly to land the Brazilian.
After Arsenal got rid of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, there was pressure on the Gunners to bring in a replacement.

They didn’t manage to do so, and then, at the end of the season, they failed to get into the Champions League.
But now, with Jesus leading the line, Arsenal are in a great position to potentially win their first Premier League title since 2004.
Santi Cazorla, speaking to the Daily Mail today, believes the 25-year-old has benefited from becoming the main man in Arsenal’s front line.
‘One step forward’
At City, Jesus often played on the wing, and while he still impressed, he wasn’t the focal point of the club’s attack.
Cazorla reckons the Brazil international has really kicked on since becoming Arsenal’s new No. 9.
“I love Gabriel Jesus,” the Emirates cult hero told the Daily Mail.
“I liked this player when he was at Manchester City. But I think now he’s made one step forward because he feels now that he’s very important for the team.”

Cazorla’s comments suggest that signing Jesus was an even bigger masterstroke than previously thought.
Edu and Arteta identified a top player who was being somewhat wasted where he played. They duly signed him, and got him up to a new level.
Their faith in Jesus looks like it’s being rewarded – top of the table and into the Europa League last 16.
Things are going in the right direction. And Edu and Arteta’s strategy looks set to be vindicated in the coming months and seasons.
