What players’ agents now say about signing for Tottenham

Tottenham have totally transformed as a team this season.

Spurs have gone from being arguably the most boring team in the Premier League under Antonio Conte to potentially the most exciting side in Europe under Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian has completely revolutionised Spurs and their way of playing football, and this is having an effect in the transfer market.

Indeed, Radu Dragusin recently chose a move to Tottenham over a move to Bayern Munich, and according to Sami Mokbel, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, other agents within the game are also now more open to their clients joining Tottenham.

Agents want their players at Spurs

Mokbel shared what he’s heard from agents within the game.

“That’s the power of Ange Postecoglou. I was speaking to some representatives of players Tottenham have had an interest in and the feedback I was getting last summer was ‘we’re not sure, Tottenham are in a period of flux, we don’t know what Ange Postecoglou is going to be like, we’re not interested in Tottenham this summer.’ I made the same call last week and said what’s going on with X player, it’s a complete turnaround ‘Oh, yeah I think it has legs in the summer, that deal could happen, they’re definitely interested and we’d definitely consider it.’ The tables have completely turned. In seven months Ange Postecoglou has built this reputation of a team who are going places and a team that plays attacking football,” Mokbel said.

Unsurprising

It’s not at all surprising to hear that agents want their players to join Tottenham.

This is a team that is on the up, and this is a manager that has an incredible track record in terms of improving his players.

From a business perspective, this makes sense for these agents. Spend 18 months learning under Ange Postecoglou and you will improve as a footballer, and, as a by-product, your transfer value will only go in one direction – up.

Don’t be shocked at all if more agents try to get their players to sign for Spurs in the coming years.
