Perhaps an unsung hero of the Ange Postecoglou era, Dejan Kulusevski is becoming an increasingly vital figure for Tottenham Hotspur.

In a period of terrible bad luck with injuries and unavailability, Kulusevski has been an ever present, a player taking on more responsibility.

And if there were existing members of this Tottenham squad that didn’t suit Postecoglou’s style, then Kulsevski was not one.

Moreover, in a piece dictating that the Swede does now deserve more credit, The Athletic have now revealed some intriguing insight.

Although often celebrated for his skill and ability to cut-in from the right, those close to the winger value one aspect of his game even more.

This report states that those familiar with Kulusevski value his ability to keep going and contribute late in games more than anything else.

And this feature of his play goes all the way back to his days at Parma, when Kulusevski was often assisting goals late in games.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons Tottenham eventually decided to buy the winger permanently from Juventus.

And Kulusevski’s goal in the 100th minute against Sheffield United this season is a brilliant example of that industry.

Before the season started, some fans did wonder if Kulusevski may be at risk of losing his place at Spurs.

Even after Harry Kane departed, some thought the arrival of Manor Solomon and Brennan Johnson could affect his minutes.

However, it’s become very apparent early on that Postecoglou will rarely start a Tottenham game without Kulusevski.

Not only because of his ability to contribute goals and assists, but because of the work-rate he offers.

Given all of these compliments, it should be noted that the 23-year-old still has a lot to improve upon as well.

10 goals in 71 Tottenham games isn’t enough, and the Swede should have buried a brilliant chance early on against Aston Villa.

But with his level of industry and promise, managers will be willing to show patience.

Dejan Kulusevski was once surplus to requirements at Juventus, a player at a loose end, but he’s now found a permanent home in North London.

And although he’s happy at his new side, one £50m player has now decided against a move to Tottenham.
