Liverpool have been making serious moves ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Reds lifted their 20th league title last season despite only signing Federico Chiesa across the last two windows. However, things are looking different this time around, with FSG appearing to fully back Arne Slot.

Liverpool have agreed a deal for Jeremie Frimpong to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who leaves his boyhood club to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Liverpool also leading the race for Florian Wirtz, with the player preferring a move to Anfield over Bayern Munich.

They are also in talks to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth and as per recent reports, Liverpool have held talks to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Other English clubs highly rate Liverpool target Hugo Ekitike

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has now claimed that a number of clubs are keen on signing the £84m striker.

According to Bailey, several English sides view him as a player with enormous potential, someone who is currently regarded as being as good as any other striker in Europe. He said:

“Hugo Ekitike is a tremendous talent since PSG pipped Newcastle to sign him from Reims, he is a player talked about constantly in England.

“He has now shown his true talent at Eintracht Frankfurt and I am told by more than one top-six club in England that they believe he has as much potential as any striker in Europe, he is that good.

“Frankfurt know this too and have spoken to club sources this week, they are standing firm on their £84m valuation – they won’t take a Euro less was the message coming out.

“They got £95m for Randal Kolo Muani and €75m for Omar Marmoush in January – they don’t need the money and one reason they are sticking to their valuation.”

Bailey also confirms that Liverpool and Chelsea remain interested in the Frenchman, with Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United also monitoring the situation.

He further claims that Ekitike is open to a Premier League move. Bailey continues:

“Chelsea and Liverpool have been strongly linked in recent days, but their interest is not new – we revealed in April that both clubs were watching him closely. That aside, Manchester City, Aston Villa and his former suitors Newcastle are still following him.

“Personally I think it is an expensive deal and perhaps too much for a club, but I am told the player is open to the move.

“Chelsea have just finalised Liam Delap, and we have to see if they progress with interest in Ekitike.”

Arsenal also linked with Hugo Ekitike

Strikers are in demand in the upcoming transfer window with a number of top clubs actively looking to bolster their attack, including Arsenal.

Alexander Isak remains a dream target for Arsenal but signing him is not going to be easy, with Newcastle standing firm on keeping him.

Benjamin Sesko is strongly linked with the Gunners as well and is seen as the more realistic option.

They are also interested in the Frankfurt hitman, with recent reports claiming that Arsenal held talks with Ekitike.

With strong interest from multiple clubs, it remains to be seen where the Frenchman will end up this summer.
